“Sumi-e” (墨絵) translates as “black ink painting.” This centuries-old Japanese and Chinese brushwork tradition celebrates simplicity, spontaneity, and the beauty of imperfection. Every brushstroke is deliberate and permanent — giving each plate its own distinctive ink-blot design.

Artisan Quality & Craft Process

·       Truly unique: every plate is hand-painted individually, so the pattern you receive is one-of-a-kind

·       Available in two sizes — 23 cm and 28 cm diameter

·       Slip-cast in fine porcelain using custom molds, then hand-finished and painted in my studio

·       High-temperature fired for strength, durability, and a refined surface finish
